Hurst Warne are delighted to have been successful in receiving a grant from LoCase – Low Carbon Across The South and East team, for green energy alterations to the Leatherhead office.
We were made aware of LoCase at a presentation at Mole Valley Business Network.
In addition to energy efficiency measures we are already on the journey to becoming carbon neutral (hybrid cars, 95% paperless, fully on the cloud, supportive of some working from home). The improvements we have been able to make using the grant are enabling us to lower our business’ carbon footprint and carbon emissions further still.
These include:
- LED upgrade from fluorescent lighting on the 1st floor offices at Leatherhead.
- PIR motion sensor lighting in the meeting room.
- Upgrading from a 10 year old gas boiler and legacy air con to HVAC & electric water heater.
- Remove all radiators and replace with heat pump AC units and an electric radiator (hence removing gas from the building completely).
A number of our employees have attended a Net Zero course and we are completing carbon footprint calculations and continue to do all we can to continue improving.
The Low Carbon Across the South and East Programme has been funded by the European Regional Development Fund 2014-20 and was administered by Kent County Council.
